Rick Wiggins of DAMAR Heating has been our expert for heating and air conditioning since we bought our century-old house in Northeast Portland in 1998. Rick pulled out a suspect-looking oil burner and replaced it with a modern gas furnace that is still going strong. He also installed central air, which has been a real blessing when it’s needed, and he worked with us in converting our kitchen range from electric to gas. When our daughters came along a few years later and we needed more room, Rick installed a nifty heat pump unit in our attic that’s turned that area from an uncomfortable place to a great living space.
Rick is a thoughtful professional who’s always willing to help his customers, even at odd hours and on days when other people are off duty. He’s extracted a hamster carcass from our furnace on a sad Saturday, made an emergency house call on a holiday weekend, referred us to quality contractors for other needs, and even helped us with an odd job running a telephone cable.
